I like to read your article.

In the 1830s., before long he was studying beekeeping in depth. He observed his bees and sought to understand their ways in order to build hive boxes which would allow him to better combat the destructive wax moths and collect surplus honey without harming the bees or damaging their wonderful honey comb.

Great Respect for Rev Langstroth . He is an idol among all beekeepers.

How succesfull were the efforts to have a LL Langstroth commemorative stamp approved at the January US Citizen’s Stamp Advisory committee meeting? Any results?

A commemorative stamp is definitely in order. We’ve recently had a great stamp campaign promoting nature’s pollinators. We need to make the link between nature and man’s stewardship. No one man on the globe has done more for the honeybees than Langstroth. He makes a nation and a world proud.

Great idea – the importance of Rev Langstroth cannot be overstated, and anything to help increase public awareness of the honey bee and the role it plays can only be good.

I remember my Father seeing a swarm of bees in the sky and he would start banging a plow share with a hammer.This was around 1940.
After awhile the swarm would start circulin the ares and started to land around some hives he had set up. We thought this was real neat, plenty of honey
